“When I first arrived to the community, I was in complete awe. The plants were very beautiful on the outside, and the concierge was super nice greeting everyone, including my grandfather. My grandfather admitted that he felt special and wanted, and he was so surprised at the amount of programs that they offered to the residents.”

Our spacious apartments are tastefully decorated and well-maintained. All apartments feature closets, windows with custom window treatments, and individual climate control. In addition, residences have kitchenettes with ample cabinet space, a refrigerator, and a sink. All apartments are barrier-free throughout, wheelchair accessible, and equipped with an emergency call system linked to the The Hidenwood 24-hour nursing team.

Inspiritás is our dedicated Memory Care facility within the The Hidenwood senior living community, catering to residents with cognitive challenges, including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. This holistic program is crafted to celebrate life while ensuring the utmost safety and comfort for those facing memory-related conditions.

The Inspiritás “neighborhood” is a secured environment, specifically designed to prevent wandering and alleviate confusion. It features life havens, interactive art, and serene private gardens and courtyards to provide a calming and safe space for residents.

Our commitment is to provide compassionate senior care in Newport News, addressing emotional, social, physical, spiritual, and cognitive needs. We prioritize smiles, personalized attention, and encouragement, ensuring both residents and their families find peace of mind.

Levels of Care

The Hidenwood’s 2-year ECC license allows residents to age in place by providing the basic services of an assisted living facility. Our determination is based on:

  • The resident's physician's history and physical report
  • Our comprehensive nursing assessment
  • The Uniform Assessment Instrument (UAI)

After evaluating your specific needs, we guide you in selecting the most suitable level of care:

  • Level A - Introductory Level of Assistance
  • Level I - Minimum Assistance
  • Level II - Moderate Assistance
  • Level III - Extended Assistance
  • Level IV - Highest Level of Assistance
