There have been many craftspeople in indigenous Mexican culture with no formal art training. These people have made various beautiful and useful art forms in the context of tradition, culture, and national identity. The 20th century saw a great rise in these handicrafts which became economically valuable. We will explore many varieties and styles of folk art in Mexico. We will create a colorful tapestry weaving inspired by these cultural traditions.
