As humans, we have been endowed with five unique senses by which we perceive and experience our world. Among these is taste, a sensation produced when a substance placed into the mouth reacts chemically with receptor cells located on taste buds in the oral cavity. In this presentation, we explore how different foods interacting with receptor cells determine whether a flavor is pleasing, neutral, or unsavory.
