Virginia Relay Class

These classes will cover all the various traditional relay services and the specialized equipment used by individuals throughout the entire state of Virginia. These services are provided to those who are deaf, deaf-blind, hard of hearing and may have difficulty with speech. It is a free public service which enables individuals to communicate with standard telephone users. The conversation is relayed between the two callers by a specially trained Virginia Relay Communications Assistant. Learn the basics of the programs during the January program. In February the presentation will cover the various types of Caption Telephone Services along with the specialized equipment available for individuals who are Virginia residents.  This program and the equipment is free to those who are hard of hearing. The Caption Telephone services allow an individual to speak over the phone and read along with the conversation. The March presentation and training involves how relay calls work, how to properly answer and receive relay calls, the benefits for businesses and facilities throughout Virginia.  It’s extremely beneficial to understand that the Relay Friendly Partner program is designed to eliminate hang ups by educating business and individuals on how to identify, receive and place relay calls.  Come learn about these valuable services that can greatly improve the communication of those with hearing or speech difficulties.
