TED Talk Facilitated Discussion

  • Aarondale 6929 Matthew Place Springfield, VA, 22151 United States (map)

In this class, we will watch and discuss a TED Talk. TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment, and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues. Their slogan is “Ideas Worth Spreading.” Some of the fascinating titles we will be exploring this semester will include “The Future of Storytelling,”  “The Healing Power of Reading,” “Do We See Reality as It Is?”  “The Brain-Changing Effects of Exercise,” and “Feats of Memory Anyone Can Do,” just to name a few!
