Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. During this course, we will cover the different domains of the practice of music therapy. We will discuss where music therapists work, whom they work with, and what type of interventions music therapists use to address different populations. Music therapy is becoming more and more well known as the years go by, and that is because of the research that has gone into the practice. We will discuss some of the evidence-based research that shows how music therapy is working and how the field is growing in many different settings.
